Luxury Single Family Home
Lawson Projects worked closely with the owner and a team of consultants and contractors, from concept to completion, to deliver the luxury French-style farmhouse. We managed the development of the 78-acre property, which included the ICF construction of a main residence; a stable with 14 stalls for horses; separate pastures with 3 railing fencing, out buildings, a gallop track, separate staff residence; and internal roads to service all areas.
The main residence is approximately 930 m2 (10,000 sq. ft.) and includes a three-door garage and a separate 125 m2 (1,350 sq. ft.) media/office building. The barn is 670 m2 (7,500 sq. ft.), the staff residence is 140 m2 (1,500 sq. ft.) and the storage building is 230 m2 (3,200 sq. ft.). This unique residence was featured in House & Home magazine shortly after completion.
Medicine Tree Manor Seniors Residence, High River, AB
Medicine Tree Manor, a senior’s residence constructed in the early 1960’s, was heavily damaged during the 2013 spring flooding in southern Alberta. Lawson Projects was retained by Westwinds Communities (formerly Foothills Foundation) to manage the restoration work. Detailed costing of the restoration work and building code analysis confirmed the more cost effective solution was to demolish the existing buildings and reconstruct new facilities on the existing footings.
In mid-2014, Lawson Projects provided the Project Management leadership to assemble the design and construction teams. In December 2015, less than 3 months before turnover, the new structure was completely lost in a construction fire. Lawson Projects worked closely with the insurance and ownership teams, and the newly appointed consulting team to start reconstruction in early 2016. The project was successfully completed and re-opened in October 2017.
