Wow Town (Children’s Discovery Centre) - The Pleiades Theatre was converted to a children’s discovery centre named Wow Town. The project included the demolition of all theatre elements to make way for the construction of the new facilities followed by extensive renovations and installation of exhibits. Creative Kids Museum - The Telus World of Science collaborated with the Creative Kids Museum Society to construct and operate a new museum to enhance creativity and learning for children and their families through hands-on activities. The project scope included delivering a ticketing and reception area and common area amenity space. |
Humane Society New Dog Training Facility, Cochrane, AB
The Cochrane and Area Humane Society constructed a new dog training facility as an extension to their existing main operations building in order to replace the previous off-site facilities.
Lawson Projects was engaged in early 2012 to perform a feasibility study, reviewing multiple scenarios for the dog training facility requirements. Lawson Projects was then engaged in early 2013 to implement the recommendations from the feasibility study, which was to construct a new on-site facility. Planning work on this project commenced in March 2013 and while work was proceeding concurrently with the fundraising campaign the construct work began in August 2016 and was completed in November 2016.

Lawson Projects was engaged in 2010 to serve as the Prime Contractor’s representative and to supplement head office resources for UFA (Calgary). Our engagement included providing a site management team to complete the construction. A Site Superintendent and a crew of site labourers were deployed to assist UFA’s own site staff previously assigned to the Project.
Our team managed the schedule, budget, quality and safety for the Project. We were also responsible for coordinating all building and finishing trades. Lawson Projects successfully managed the delivery of all scope of work contracted to UFA on this project. |

Professional Development Centre; Music Building; Banquet Facility; Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Centre
We provided project management services for four (4) major capital projects for The Banff Centre from 1994 through to 1997. They were The Professional Development Centre, a 174-room guest accommodation and conference facility; a Music Building above a two-level parkade; a Banquet Facility; and the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Centre incorporating artist development space recording studios. |
